Welcome to the “VILLAGE OF LOVE”

WHO WE ARE
We are a cooperative of guardians caring for orphaned and abandoned children within our own loving families. We have formed a government registered organisation, Kijiji Cha Upendo (Swahili for "Village of Love"); in order to increase our capacity as parents and as breadwinners and to fund raise in order to provide an education for the children. Currently we are comprised of 30 families, together caring for 140 children, orphaned and biological. The project operates in Kibera, one of Africa’s largest slums.

OUR VISION

We envision vulnerable children, to the best of their potential, becoming well developed adults and healthy, productive and responsible citizens.

OUR MISSION

To complement the efforts of families already providing physical and emotional support, to orphans and other vulnerable children, infected and affected by HIV/AIDS through a family based approach, where children receive nurturing care by loving adults, within family homes.
